Fiat Ducato, Citroën Relay and Peugeot Boxer Double DIN Motorhome Stereo Fitting Kit with DAB Retention

This Double DIN motorhome stereo upgrade fitting kit is designed for select Fiat Ducato X290 2014-2021, Citroën Relay 2014-2021 and Peugeot Boxer X290 2014-2024 van and motorhome models fitted with the original Fiat 250 VP1 DAB radio system. It is intended for installing a branded aftermarket Double DIN stereo from manufacturers such as Pioneer, Alpine, Kenwood, JVC and Sony, while helping maintain important factory features.

The kit includes the larger-style connector steering wheel control interface for Fiat-based vehicles from 2014 onwards. This interface allows the original steering wheel control buttons to work with the new aftermarket head unit and also provides useful outputs including ignition, speed pulse, reverse, handbrake and illumination. It is supplied with a universal patch lead and is specifically intended for vehicles with the larger-style connector behind the radio.

For the dashboard installation, the package includes the gloss black Double DIN fascia for Fiat Ducato, Citroën Relay and Peugeot Boxer facelift vehicles from 2014 onwards. The fascia uses side fixing brackets that attach directly to the new radio and fascia panel for a flush fit. It is designed to match the original dashboard shape and finish more closely, although some additional plastic trimming may be required during installation.

To retain radio reception, the kit includes both the Fakra to DIN aerial adapter with 12V phantom power and the Fakra DAB male to female SMB antenna adapter. The AM/FM adapter converts the original Fakra aerial connection to a standard DIN connection and powers the amplifier in the original antenna through the phantom power feed. The DAB adapter converts the original Fakra DAB antenna connector in the vehicle to a female SMB connection used on aftermarket head units, allowing the factory DAB antenna to be retained.

Vehicle Compatiblity

This Double DIN stereo upgrade fitting kit is compatible with select Fiat Ducato X290 2014-2021, Citroën Relay 2014-2021 and Peugeot Boxer X290 2014-2024 van and motorhome models with the factory fitted Fiat 250 VP1 DAB radio system.

During installation, the metal fascia clips have been known to fall down the back of the vehicles dashboard. If this happens additional clips can be purchase separately (Part number 80-026)

This Double DIN stereo upgrade fitting kit contains:

Fakra DAB male to DAB SMB female antenna adapter (21-037)

Use to convert the original (Fakra DAB) antenna connector in a car to a female SMB (used on aftermarket head-units)

Fakra to DIN aerial adapter with Phantom Power (21-123K)

This cable converts the original antenna connector in the car, known as a Fakra connector, to a standard aftermarket antenna connector, known as a DIN connector.

The adapter cable has a built in module which provides a phantom power feed to the original antenna in the car. A phantom power feed is a 12v power supply that is sent up the centre wire of the antenna cable, this powers the amplifier built into the original antenna. The antenna adapter cable has a loose wire which needs to be connected to the 12v antenna power output of the new aftermarket stereo.

The phantom power feed terminates in a male bullet connector to make the phantom power lead easier to connect to ISO cables and steering wheel control interfaces with a female bullet connection for the electric antenna turn on

CANbus steering wheel control interface (Larger style Connector) (39-FIA-03)

CANbus steering wheel control interface for Fiat/ Alfa Romeo (2014 Onwards) vehicles with the larger-style connector behind the radio.

This interface uses a larger style connection behind the original radio to allow the use of the original steering wheel control buttons with a new aftermarket head-unit. It also provides CANbus outputs as well as Ignition, speed pulse, reverse, handbrake and illumination signals.

This model is universal and can be used with Alpine, Blaupunkt, Clarion, Pioneer, JVC, Kenwood, Sony or  Zenec Head-units.

It is supplied complete with instructions and a universal patch lead to connect to the steering control input of the above head unit brands

Fiat Ducato (2014 Onwards) Double Din fascia with side fix brackets GLOSS BLACK (50-938)

This kit comes with side fixing brackets so no cage kit is required.

For single DIN installation an additional pocket will be required.

There may be some additional plastic that requires cutting to allow the installation of a double-din unit.
