This Pioneer 9-inch Perfect Fit fitting kit allows installation of the Pioneer SPH-PF97BT (sold separately) into BMW 3 Series (E46) 1999–2006 models with standard audio systems. Designed specifically for Pioneer 9 inch Perfect Fit stereos, the kit retains factory steering wheel audio controls and includes a fascia adapter, interface, patch lead and aerial adapter.

PLEASE NOTE: On standard non-navigation models, the heater controls will need to be relocated below the factory radio position. Not suitable for Harman Kardon or navigation systems.

Pioneer 9" Perfect Fit Fitting Kit for BMW 3 Series (E46) 1999–2006 with Steering Controls

Upgrade your BMW 3 Series (E46) from 1999 to 2006 with this dedicated Pioneer 9-inch Perfect Fit fitting kit. Designed specifically for Pioneer 9 inch Perfect Fit stereos such as the SPH-PF97BT (sold separately), this kit allows installation of a modern floating-style touchscreen head unit while maintaining key factory functionality.

This kit is designed only for vehicles with standard audio systems. The included steering wheel control interface retains the original steering wheel audio controls, ensuring seamless operation with the new Pioneer head unit. A dedicated patch lead is included for direct compatibility.

A 9-inch fascia adapter panel provides a clean OEM-style dashboard finish, while the Fakra to DIN aerial adapter ensures continued AM/FM radio reception.

On standard non-navigation models, installation requires the heater controls to be relocated below the factory radio position, which is a common modification when upgrading the E46 dashboard layout.

Vehicles equipped with factory Harman Kardon sound systems or OEM navigation systems will require a different fitting solution.

This head unit fitting kit includes:

Antenna adapter cable

Male Fakra to Male DIN antenna adapter cable. This cable adapts from a Farka antenna connection at the back of the cars original radio to a standard aftermarket DIN antenna connection to allow the fitting of an aftermarket radio upgrade. This is a passive adapter cable, not suitable for cars that need a phantom power supply to turn on the antenna amplifier.

Steering wheel control interface

Steering wheel control interface and adapter cable for various BMW cars to fit an aftermarket radio upgrade. The cable adapts from the 17 Round Pin connector in the car to standard ISO aftermarket ISO connectors. This replaces the need for a separate ISO radio replacement adapter cable. The CANbus steering wheel control interface is built in to the adapter cable for a plug and play installation. This interface will allow the original audio control buttons on the steering wheel to work with the new aftermarket radio.

Pioneer Patch Lead

Adapter lead to pair an InCarTec 49- series steering wheel control interface to the steering wheel remote input of a Pioneer aftermarket radio.

This short adapter lead connects to the 12 pin micro molex connector on the 49- series interface box and to the steering wheel remote input on the back of a Pioneer radio. The steering remote input on a Pioneer radio is usually labelled "W/R" (wired remote)

Designed specifically for BMW 3 Series (E46) from 1999 to 2006 without navigation and standard audio, this fascia is designed for installation of the Pioneer 9” stereo. Built as a bespoke fit for vehicles in the application list, it adapts the dashboard aperture after removing the factory stereo to accept a universally mounted 4-screw head unit. This ensures compatibility with the Pioneer 9 inch system while retaining the original OEM-style appearance of the dashboard.
