Car audio and steering wheel control interface for Audi cars that have quadlock connectors behind the radio and have fully amplified BOSE audio systems.
The CANbus interface will generate an ignition power supply to the new radio, via the red wire. it will also give out an illumination signal, (orange) speed pulse signal (pink), reverse gear positive output (Purple), Handbrake negative (Green) and Mute out (Yellow/Black)
The interface also switches on the original digital amplifier on RNS-E systems.
This CANbus steering wheel control interface will allow you to retain the use of the steering wheel audio controls.
Gives volume, seek, source, and telephone commands to an after market radio.
The quadlock adapter has 4x phono pre-out connectors to integrate with the original amplifier in the car.
The CANbus interface will generate an ignition power supply to the new radio, via the red wire. it will also give out an illumination signal, (orange) speed pulse signal (pink), reverse gear positive output (Purple), Handbrake negative (Green) and Mute out (Yellow/Black)
Note: This provides a CAN signal to switch on the amplifier
Installation Notes
Blue wire (Antenna turn-on Output) - Connect this to the separate blue wire usually found on our antenna adapters (21-120K, 21-139k) If not present please ignore this, it is not required!
Purple wire (Reverse Gear Output) - This wire will provide a signal to the vehicle's head unit when the vehicle is in reverse. This will trigger the video screen to show the video from the backup camera on the screen.
Pink wire (Speed Pulse Output) - Some stereos / navigation systems have a speed pulse wire and this tells the new stereo how fast or slow the vehicle is travelling.
Green wire (Parking Brake Output) - If your new stereo has a touchscreen or video monitor, this wire acts as a switch to turn on the video monitor when the parking brake is engaged.
Yellow/ Black (Mute Output) - This provides a Signal to mute the car radio when in reverse gear so you can hear the parking sensor audio tones
PLEASE NOTE: A dedicated 49-Series patch lead MUST be ordered with this product. This links the steering control interface to the steering wheel control input on the back of the new stereo
