Steering wheel control interface and radio replacement adapter cable for various Mercedes cars.
The CANbus interface and radio adapter cable is plug and play, it is used to connect an aftermarket stereo upgrade and retain the use of the volume, track skip and phone buttons from the steering wheel with the new radio.
The CANbus interface will also provide ignition, illumination, handbrake, reverse gear and speed pulse output signals to the new stereo.

The cable adapts from the Quadlock connector in the car to standard aftermarket ISO connectors. This replaces the need for a separate ISO radio replacement adapter cable.
The CANbus steering wheel control interface is built in to the adapter cable for a plug and play installation.
This interface will allow the original audio control buttons on the steering wheel to work with the new aftermarket radio. The interface will work the volume, track skip and phone buttons. Note; the operation of these buttons can be dependent on the vehicle spec and radio compatibility.
The CANbus interface will also provide ignition, illumination, speed pulse, hand brake and reverse gear output signals to the new radio.
SLK Note: Use this interface for later models R171 with the steering control buttons in a circular cluster. This change of steering wheel happened around 2008 models.
